View Full Version : Strange issue: game won't run - haven't seen this issue on these forums

any potential reasons?

SPECS (If it helps):

Vista 32bit
Core2Quad 2.4 Ghz (Cant remember name)
4GB Ram
Nvidia 9800GTX+

(Already posted this on the steam forums but was told i could get a response from the devs themselves here)

That's well weird... have you tried reinstalling the game? Do you have the most recent drivers for your Nvidia card? (but not the ones that cause the overheating problem)

i updated my drivers a few days ago when another game didn't work, tried reinstalling, same thing happens :wall:

Si is Simon Read, creator of the games :) He's known in the forum as either Si or siread.

He doesn't usually have a fixed time for response but he'll probably ask you to run a few more tests before anything else :)

btw does the Steam demo run?

what do you mean by running tests?

also, no i haven't tried the demo out, sounds like a good idea?

there is no demo on steam, i checked

EDIT: Tried the demo, and it does the exact same thing!

I fixed it :dance: but i have to go through hoops in order to play it, see, i installed the latest nvidia drivers to get another game working, it did. But then a few days later i tried to play it again and it did not work, so i reinstalled my drivers yesterday and the game worked, and by coincidence i got super laser racer running as well. But i restarted my pc, and it doesn't work, so that means i have to reinstall my graphics drivers every time i shut down my computer earlier in order to play those 2 games. /anticipates next batch of nvidia drivers which hopefully don't have this problem.

Hah, it's not that Nvidia have a bad history of releasing crappy drivers (except for the overheating ones) but that's good news :)
