Finally got my download url, superb game. First tournament story is a follows:

Played as England first up, with a custom 2,3,3,2 formation. Despite all that South Africa v Mexico practice, I promptly lost the first game 1-0 to USA. Started the second match against Algeria and almost immediately had a midfielder sent off, but came back from that and won 3-0 with just the 10 men; a sterling performance. Next up was Slovenia, despite us taking a two goal lead, they pulled one back in the 89th minute after a lot of pressure and many missed chances, but we held on and qualified for the knock out phase.

Who do we get? Germany of course! We took an early first half lead with a cracking shot from the left winger. Unfrotuntely Germany equalsed almost immediately, gutted, but typical of England. We then had a player sent off in the 91st minute making a desperate last man challenge to prevent another German goal, and it all looked doomed from there, but we held on for extra time. Germany scored almost immediately after the restart, and to make matters worse England had another player sent off. 9 men against Germany, no chance. As so it proved. England couldn't get another shot on goal and went out to their arch nemesis Germany.

The good news was that Brazil promptly knocked out Germany, and a Holland Germany final was for the making. Holland beat the pre-tournament favourites, in a dull 1-0 win to be crowned 2010 world champions.

I played as Spain, the groupstage was no problem since my opponents had no chance against TIKI-TAKA. The only game, which was a little bit tighter was against Chile. After 30 minutes it was 0-1 in favor of Chile. They defended well until we scored our first goal in the 61st minute. Chile's resistance was broken and we took the game home winning 3-1.

Surprisingly France, England and Serbia didn't make it to the next stage.

The first match in the K.O. round was against Portugal. It was more a fight than a match with not too much shots on goal. In the 44th minute a stunning goal gave us the lead. The ref decided to give some overtime, in which Protugal equalised the score (45 +4). With Portugal beeing a little bit more offensive in the second half, there was more room for our attacks, so we won with 3-1.

In the Quarterfinal we were facing Italy, who knocked out Holland. They played like Inter-Milano in the Championsleague Semi-Final. We were attacking like mad, but there was no chance to get past the Italy-Defenders.We didn't know what to do after we tried nearly everything, we thought that we had to go over the full-length and penalties.
Then after 60 minutes Italy was in our box for the first time. The whistle blew - RED CARD - Penalty! To our luck the shot went wide of the post.
It was the 82nd minute when we scored the scored the decisive goal. A wonderfully taken corner went straight to the head of one of our Forwards. He hit a hard headed shot which almost burst the net.
After that we copied the tactics of Italy and they weren't able to get inside the box in the last 10 minutes of the game.

The Semi-Final was an unspectacular 5-0 victory against the US-boys.

Germany won the other Semi-Final, they beat Brazil and other favourites on the way to the Final.
The game seemed to be decided after a brace in the 15th/16th minute and another goal after 21 minutes. But we weren't concentrated anymore and Germany didn't gave up themselves. After we made some ridiculous mistakes Germany was able to get back into the game and making the halftime score 3-2.
In the second half the Germans seemed to run out of ideas, while we were able to play our game. We had good chances and two shots hit the post. Five minutes before the end of the game one of our midfielders hit a hard shot from about 35 yards. It seemed to miss the goal, but it had enough curl to make it to the other side of the post. Germany weren't able to set anything against it anymore.

We took home the Cup with a 4-2 victory against Germany :D
