Introducing a revamped and much improved New Star Soccer Editor!

Although some features from the last version (1.0.6) have been removed, this is only temporary, as I wanted to get this new version released as soon as possible.

Everything is better, in terms of speed, ease of use, and also in terms of adding new features (The last version really was a house built on quicksand).

As you can see, several features are not yet enabled, but both are nearing completion. CONSOLE allows for quick commands to be entered for full control over your game save, and UNFUDGE basically makes all in-game player/team names real.

MAJOR CHANGES

No need to be scrambling around your HDD to find your NSS2010 game saves, as the editor automatically adds any legible game saves into a list for you to choose from. (Any saves not in the default NSS2010 folder will not be found, so place them in there!)
Brand new core framework behind editing the save file means that loading and saving the changes are way faster than before!
Brand new unseen features soon to be included.


As with the last editor, this is still Windows PC's only. As soon as I can get my Mono libraries working correctly with some of the libraries I use I will see about a Mac build being made available.

The NSS3 Editor still needs a bit of work as it often retrieves the wrong variables and then corrupts the save file. I haven't included it in this version yet.

It may be DEP. Try making New Star Soccer Editor.exe a trusted file.


Run -> sysdm.cpl -> Advanced -> DEP -> Add -> Find the .exe

The .dll should 'shadow install'. Ill put up a manual RAR file for you.

OK, the Installer is messing it up, try the new .RAR file.

You should be able to just run-it I think.

So, im desperately trying to get the NSS3 editor to work.

I had it working for a little while, but I changed some stuff and now it fetches the wrong information and corrupts the save games when closing the stream.

I'll keep you posted on how its going!

The editor for NSS3 looks pretty similar to this one, and you can change all your abilities, i think ive finally found what was causing the problem, im just testing it out now to make sure its working properly.

Ive adopted a different approach. Instead of doing a 'save game editor' im doing an editor which you use while the NSS3.exe is open (like a game 'trainer')

Its working much better because I only have to fetch the memory addresses and its easy from there on in. Ive not started doing this yet but this is how I think it will be best done!

OK, finally finished my Computing project now so hopefully thats freed some time up for me to continue working on this.

Im scrapping the idea of doing NSS1/2 because nobody seems to play them much anymore (Maybe except me) and they are fairly easy to byte-hack anyway.

Im going to get back onto the NSS3 Trainer-thingy and will let you guys know how im getting on with it.

Ill have a look into it, but im sure that is save-side and that was the problem I was having (Try opening a NSS3 save game in notepad, you'll see what I mean) so I can't guarantee it. I am definately trying to get it done for NSS2010 though.

No, the New Star Soccer Editor.exe can be run from anywhere.....
Im not sure why it isnt working for you, is DEP disabled for the .exe file?

BTW is there a way to make it somehow fix the World Cup problem I have with NSS2010? The darn thing doesn't create fixtures for the WC and it isn't played. It's frustrating.

I dont think so, thats very unique to each game depending on qualification and such so would be a bit too hard to do. Ill have a look though.......

Try unzipping it into a folder, WinRar sometimes stops the .exe from accessing the uncompressed .DLL file it needs.

From my (poor) experience with vb.net, this should mean Brad messed something up in the code or that your save game is corrupt. Can you load your save game in NSS?

Your not supposed to edit the .dll! Your supposed to edit your .db in your documents folder.

My Documents -> New Star Soccer 2010 -> Saves -> Your save data .db

The .dll shouldnt be edited!

Finally got the auto-transfer and auto-loan functions working now.

Will upload as soon as I can get the original source cleaned up, because at the moment the editor is just 627 lines of unoptimized rubbish.

May even release as a standalone option in the mean time.

EDIT: Anyone waiting for the NSS3 Editor, I massively apologize but after over 30 hours of searching, learning, testing and trying, I just do not have the skills needed to get the editor fully working yet.
I have only got it to do 2 basic things, which are change the amount of cash, and change your player name.

Its annoying because the way I was going about making the editor involves memory-addresses, offsets and pointers, but the majority of the VB.Net community seem very unwilling to help anyone with this topic, as it can be used via hacking methods and keyloggers etc.

I will keep trying things, and hopefully I might just get that EUREKA! moment I need to get it done.

Especially sorry to Volker, I am sorry dude!

EDIT #2: On another note, anyone who has any VB.Net experience who knows of a way to get a NSS3 editor working, please PM me or email me!

I have the worst luck.

You may realise that the current New Star Soccer Editor.exe in the new file does not work.

Well, I tried to open the source code of the editor to see what was wrong, and I got tons upon tons of error messages and corrupted file errors.

So, I will not be able to release any new updates for the current editor.

HOWEVER, I am (slowly) writing up a major NSS class, as I have discovered the way of doing things last time was slow, pointless and stupid.

What I was doing before: Getting all the data via SQL queries and storing it in memory and then retrieving it when I needed it.

What I am doing now: Getting data I need via SQL queries but not storing it, just getting it and then removing it from memory.

This not only takes less time to process, retrieve and change the data, but also takes less time to code AND is easier to code, as before handling with a massive nation array with 200 or so entries is not only awkward, but very confusing.

I also plan to create a brand new GUI, as the existing one is'nt very good to be honest.

Release date: Sometime within the next 2 weeks hopefully as long as everything goes to plan (Which it probably wont)

Sorry pal, only just noticed this post.

At the moment there is no way of changing position in the editor, and since I really messed up the code in my latest update as the obsfucation tool broke my solution files. If time allow, I may throw together 1 last update in Java or Mono for cross-OS support, and also add more features.

The main problem with my original approach was each feature was awkward to code individually. Whereas since then, I have discovered different modules you can use for SQLite databases which makes the whole process about 50 times faster and easier.

Unfortunately I am no longer working on any updates or fixes to the NSS Editor. The only advice I can offer is to try re-downloading and updating your .Net framework. The SQLite extension I use has known issues with Windows 7 unfortunately!
