Do points in the actual skills (passing, shooting etc) make any difference? and if so, can somebody please give me advice on how to shoot?? I am a striker just like Emile Heskey, im having 8 shots a game and none are hitting the back of the net.

advice on shooting, anyone? like how to direct a decent shot and I know that pressing a direction curls it, but I need serious help.

try high balls on side of goal or strong low shots very near the post (use pass key). you can try some shots with lob too, but it must be just under the post in side of goal

i find low shots into the corner, (tap shoot) keep aiming for the corners and you'll score soon! it took me sometime to sort out how to score but now i'm doing it freely.

'Nuff said really  :o

Yes, the more you train on shooting, the more accurate your shots will be (i've got to go out now, ill post more when i get back) :D

I find that most NSS3 goal keepers are weak near the posts so if you tap one in right next to the post you will likely score.

However, its good to have good Flair and Shooting skills to make sure you dont fumble it.

I've noticed this. I'm in season 3 and I was playing against Man Utd and they had Luke Steele in goal, his rating was handling 9!

I've tightened up keepers so you can't dribble into the goal unchallenged. I might need to look at their near post weakness too!

Nice avatar Chester Guy!

I agree diggisaur, it very easy (if you havce some skils) to score a goal at the posts. I've even scored a goal for the center of the field.

Also if you shoot from a long way out, it is often possible to time it so that the ball bounces over the keepers head or someone will run in and get the rebound.

I know the perfect place to shoot from for this to happen, but i'm not going to say, you'll have to find out for yourselves* :-$

Si: Thanks, Thought i may aswell make my avatar appropriate to NSS

*Also if i say Si may go and change it so you cant score from there - then that would be half my goals gone

My team has scored about 6 goals directly from corners this season. Might be something that you want to take a look at.

i found a nice way to score that worked for me while my stats were low, make sure you have good pace and dribbling skills, run inside the box just before the sideline then turn into the keeper, he'll come out to try and stop you, run back up the field a bit then you can run around the keeper and pass the ball into an empty net. although sometimes you get fouled and the ref will give a penaltly (counts as an assist if your team scores) i did this playing in the australian league and was scoring at least 3 goals a game then transfered to the premier league in england.

this trick still works in the english league although not often enough for it to be a reliable way to score, but to start with its a good way to get goals and increase your ratings until you have skilled up enough not to rely on it

Ive often wondered exectly hopw the skill points work. For instance, if my passing skill is currently 6, and then I improve it to 7, what difference does this actually do in the game?

It increases your Value and your auto passes will go more in disired direction.
