Right, log into steam and let me know if you can see and play Super Laser Racer from your game list.

If so, then play it and get some achievements! I need to make sure everything is 100% ready for Thursday 18th when it launches on Steam, so bugs are important, suggestions for improvements/new features not so important. :)

btw the game stutters a bit on Windows 7, but it's nothing too big.

edit: minor bug - I put all sound to 0% but when a bomb blows up I still hear it blowing up. (edit3: when a car is destroyed I can hear it as well)

edit2: leaderboards work and so does the Ace Pilot achievement.

edit4: If I am pressing my acceleration key (in this case the Up Arrow) before the race starts, my car won't accelerate till I press it again.

edit5: Alright, the game seems to be working beautifully, I can't see any problems other than the aforementioned. I hope this introduces more people to the world of New Star Games :D

edit6: I know this is not important right now but can you please add a save option to the tourneaments? please? :D And a replay option? :D

edit8: I just remembered there was a Portuguese translation so I changed language to Portuguese and the game font changed - is this normal? Oh and btw I'd recommend you posted new translation files so I could translate the achievements :P btw I'll need to redo my translation because of the Orthographic Agreement of 1990, it just changed a whole bunch of words in Portuguese language.

And yet another edit... I just noticed that the "Access the Steam Community while playing, Press Shift+Tab" overlay covers the big OK button in the Settings screen - is it not possible to only make the overlay appear in the actual game?

I've also noticed that the AI doesn't dodge mines.

edit: I got the Pacifist achievement without winning :D All other achievements were attained within normality ;)

Right, fixed the Settings OK button, sound effects and pressing accelerate before starting. I'll let you know when it's up on steam. :)

Righto, I'm giving Normal mode a shot. I also have a few suggestions for achievements but I'll leave those till after I finish the race :P (I was on MSN because the IM sound kept playing...)

edit: I win. Suggestions:

- Win a race on all tracks on all difficulties
- Win in survivor mode on all tracks on all difficulties
- Win in eliminator mode on all tracks on all difficulties
- Get Special medals on all tournaments on Easy
- Same but on Medium
- Win a race in survivor mode with a car with 1 for Shield
- Win in eliminator mode with a car with 3 for Speed (or even less, your choice)

edit: I chose Portuguese (the normal one), then I chose Quick Race, then Survivor, then Medium, then I chose as track Lazcon and my controller settings were reset.

You should be able to see it in your games list.

It should be officially released today, but the Steam guys are over in the states somewhere, so not sure what time it will happen.

One of the guys on the forum played on Win7 x64 with the non-steam demo.

Well done on the Steam thing - I think it's just what the game needs. In fact I think I'll fire it up again today to see what sort of times people have been posting lately!

If you're still after a Win7x64 tester, let me know - my steam name is (predictably) darth_careful. The direct release has always worked fine for me, but I'm tempted by those achievements!

I bought the Steam version, there is a thing that (imho) must be edited in the traslations:

The italian language translates ALL, even the name of the game in the menu screen.

So, "Super Laser Racer" changes in "Super Pilota Laser" that is....odd? ...goofy?
...hm.

Sometimes, the names could not be translated.
Think about Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed 2, il could become "Ezius Listener" XD

Bought off Steam a couple of day ago for £2.69 :D

Brilliant game, definitely worth the money, not to mention the fact that it looks good and works on both my main and old pc :)
