Good Evening everyone.

Not much of a topic i'm afraid this one, but more information will be added as the project develops. Basically, I want to do a litmus test on how much interest there is in a third NSGP F1 mod.

I'd like to put 26 cars (13 teams) out there this time, something that has never been tried before, but because many of the original team owners are no longer active, i'm wiping the slate clean and re-opening applications for a new season.

Any existing applications need only re-declare their interest.


Any new applications need to understand a few things about the mod before they apply:

- You may submit 1 team consisting of 2 cars only. This must be a fantasy team, no Ferrari's or Brawns, although styling yourself on a team is acceptable, carbon copies are not.

- Both drivers must NOT be currently competing in F1, they may be past drivers, fantasy drivers, yourself, or drivers from other disciplines.

- Both cars must be identical in livery, although the drivers helmets may differ if you wish. If you wish to design your own car, it must be up to a decent standard; this is to keep the standard of the mod up. This covers things like shading, alpha channels, and correct proportions. Your car must be an F1 car, although the era is up to you. If you want an idea of the style of car art the mod will use, take a look at Bazik's 2009 mod; you may also use these as a base for current F1 car shapes. Liveries may have to be changed to avoided excessive clashes, and as the organiser of the mod I reserve the right to change any detail I deem necessary for the good of the mod, although I will get the user involved as much as possible.

- The stats will be capped at a total of 12 stars, these can be distributed as you wish between the three catagories.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE NSRA - NEW STAR RACING ASSOCIATION

The NSRA, governing body of the NSGP F1 series wishes to announce that from this year, the NSGP F1 series will be renamed in the interests of avoiding confusion with both the FIA F1 series, and the New Star Games company. This it is believed is a greater step onto the consciousness of the sporting community. The new name and logo will be unveiled prior to the start of the 3rd season.

In addition, the NSGPA can reveal that several new circuits will be added to the calendar, including a night race through the streets of New York City

hey lunnster, welcome to the forums. I love the idea of this team, something truly original, looking forward to doing a silver and black car, think I could make it look really sharp.

I've a few suggestions, maybe you'll like them but regardless it's your team and whatever you want i'll put into the mod, this is merely my two-pennies worth to see what you think.

As a name, have you considered the names of the films? There's some good combinations:

Thunderball Grand Prix
Goldeneye Racing
Moonraker F1
Quantum GP

etc.

I stopped short of "Octopussy F1" for obvious reasons :P, I think a sainted nun would have trouble taking a team called that seriously!

I like Quantum F1 but 007 Racing just has a ring to it that i love.

I also have something of an idea for the logo. I just don't have the tools to make it happen. I already have the right picture it just needs the racing bit adding. I have attached the picture to this message. If you could finish it i would be much obliged.

I think i'm going to include Bazik F1 in the mod, i'm sure that when Bazik returns for the new F1 season he'll be glad of having a team. I'll be designing a new livery though, staying faithful to the old one, to update for the new season and bring his up to the quality of the sprites i'm producing now.

Awesomage, glad to be entered again. Just a few changes please. We have signed coca cola as our key sponsor along with apple and so our new colour scheme is a striking black and red number (Ill have a go at the car sprite but you may need to update it to make it as I still dont know how you get that really good style). okay sorry for double post...I have mocked up a quick image of the car livery. Forgot to mention a biggie on the change front as well...We have signed VXR racing as our engine suppliers so we are actually using Vauxhall V10 engines.:redface:

The mod itself won't include online races (I think), but it will include new tracks, and customized teams and drivers made by our fellow forum members. ;)

oh you b*stard!! I've just updated the Davies Lotus, and they look surprisingly similar! Apart from the 6 wheels obviously, which i'm really quite excited about! It's a brilliant design, thinking outside the box which is what we need in the free regulation world of NSGP, expect a preview of the New 'Hesketh Team Davies Lotus' line up soon!

By the way, if you want me to bring it up to NSGP F1 spec, i'll be happy to oblige!

Indeed, without people like Ken Tyrrell and Colin Chapman where would F1 be? I'll take the PNG file, expect a post with my new driver line up and car in a few minutes.

May I present, the new face of Team Davies Lotus; "Hesketh TDL".

With backing from Lord Hesketh and John Player Special, TDL makes the first significant changes to the team and car for 2 seasons. The new 'T-TDL03' employs the use of a turbo-charged Triumph Motors engine, active suspension/twin chassis technology and cutting edge ground effect system. This means the car is able to generate more mechanical and aerodynamic grip, as well as providing more overall grunt and speed.

Add to the mix two new drivers, Jackie Stewart originally of Tyrrell Ford, and James Hunt who has joined the team with the merger of TDL and Hesketh. Where Jackie will provide assured, smooth and precise driving, James (known as "the shunt") will be expected to create havoc with his own brand of aggressive, sometimes reckless driving. In the pairing, TDL believe they have found a winning combination for season 3 of NSGP F1, which is set to undergo several changes for the new year.

Out too with the traditional racing colours of the Lotus brand, green and yellow, and in with Jet Black and gold leaf, the colours of the new JPS Tobacco sponsors. Camel, Red Stripe and Aberlour remain as secondary sponsors, with elf joining the team as official oils and lubricants provider.

Hesketh TDL intends to marry the committed and technically minded nature of the Davies Lotus brand with the playboy style of Hesketh Racing; arriving at races in Rolls-Royce cars, drinking champagne regardless of their results, and checking the entire team into five-star hotels.
