Retro Gamer's Remake of the Month!

I was flicking through the latest issue of Retro Gamer (issue 70), which I bought mainly for the uber-cool Monkey Island cover feature, and spotted Super Laser Racer in the retro remakes section, and it earned a fine review and the sticker of 'remake of the month'!

It's a game I haven't yet purchased (I've had an unusually bumper crop of games to play this year- New Star Soccer 4 and NSGP included ;)), but it's worthy of congratulations! Well done Si!

Just read the review (got lazy, didn't buy it this month until it was too late, so had to order the back issue - can't miss a copy after all this time!).

It gets a good write up, but doesn't actually say what they think it's a remake of. My guess is they're assuming Wipeout, which if I remember right isn't far wrong as far as inspiration goes.

Does make me wonder though if the section should actually be reviewing genuine remakes. Otherwise we'll have the latest FPS winning the gong. :D

I bought it but can't find the mag now. I will put up a scan as soon as it turns up. :)

I did find it a bit odd that it's in the remakes section, and they put the wrong URL! :doh:
