The New Translation Thread

Hello people of the world! At the bottom of this thread you will find the latest translation file that ships with NSS2010. If you have already translated NSS4 then you may want to download and check your language is all up to date. If you are a new translator then please download and read the instruction file inside the zip.

New translators will be rewarded with a free code for all current New Star games (including NSS2010, NSS3, NSGP, Super Laser Racer) when the translation is 100% complete.

Notes

- There are a lot of files and A LOT of text to edit, so it may take you some time. Try not to rush as mistakes can be difficult to find and may even cause the game to crash.

- Please make sure that you do not edit the tags or modifiers inside the text. If you see a $ sign or a / slash then you should not edit that text. Please read the instructions for more details.

- If there is more than 1 editor for each language then GREAT! You can split the work between you and verify each others work.

- If you start and feel you cannot go on any longer, please just send us the work you have completed and we will try to find someone else to complete the work.

The Tag "NationId" in the NSSTransFile should be your country id number. You can find out the id number here:

I'd be nice if you gave translators that file converter we were able to use while translating NSS4 in its beginnings. For example, I caught many mistakes by playing in Polish beta version - it's impossible to make a professional translation without testing it (even while translating "Super Laser" I found the converter somewhere in abysses of my old machine and tried my translation few times - and although it didn't display Polish letters I was able to notice and correct some miastakes connected with cases) . "Dry/stark/naked" text is often based mostly on assumption/prediction/premonition (whatever) - it's vital to test it before giving it to people...

Si, I've just read the information that headlines in newspapers do not display Polish characters... It was OK in NS4 but something is wrong in NS2010... Could you check that?

I believe it has already been made, I'm afraid.
But the bulgarian translations for New Star Grand Prix and Super Laser Racer haven't been done yet, you can do one of them (or both!) if you're interested! :)
By doing either, you will get a free license code for any NSG game.

I just made all the translations of the NSSTransFile. I don't know if I got everything right, because sometimes I didn't know in which content the words are used.

now I'll start with the other .txt and .xml files :)
