nobody can compare passing and shoots from free kicks. they are two very different things. but i can agree with thinking that beckham can cross from free kicks the best but he will never shoot from distance like carlos and carlos can only shoot well from free kicks because his crosses from them aren't superb

yes your right but this is more of a discussion of who you would have in your team takin free kicks if you had to choose one and i think that beckham would be best because he is an allrounder(like Flintoff in cricket :lol:)

choosing free kick taker isn't difficult. very often when you only look on place from where you have free kick and you know who and what should do in this situation. there are places from which player can cross but not shoot and there are places from which passing is stupid so player can only shoot.

Why do you want someone (roberto carlos) who probably scores 1 goal in 10 or 12 attempts when you can have someone else(beckham) who scores more like 1 goal in 4 or 6.

Yes that goal was probably the best free kick ever but i would still have beckham because he scores more beckham crosses it from where carlos scores because he knows that he cant score from there, however if carlos is closer to the goal ( about beckhams distance then he never scores.

I saw this for my self when brazil played against jamaica in my teams stadium(the walkers stadium) he had lots of attempts and every one of was where beckham takes shots from and he missed them all.

Beckham is a more all round free kick taker wereas carlos can only do one thing which is balsting and hoping.

His goals seem to come more from luck then skill.
he hits the ball so hard that the ball spins from the pace (like in cricket).

Beckham on the other hand spins the ball on the way he is postioned and were he hits the ball.
