The game freezes when the race is about to start, the sound still plays and I can see the track. Sometimes it gets as far as the countdown but visually nothing is happening. My gfx drivers are up to date and I updated openAL to eliminate that. Any ideas?

Just to update, I tried installing new soundcard drivers but that didn't make it any better

System spec is athlon 2500+, 1 gig ram, nvidia 6800 gfx and Sb Audigy 2, is this sufficient to run the game?

I think your Pc processor is too low for support this game but I'm not sure. However RAM and Graphic Card is ok and you shouldn't have any problem with tha game. I can't help you, I'm sorry:(

What OS are you on? That is a 1.6ghz processor so I'm not too sure that the game will run well

You should try to get the latest .NET update, you can also reduce the resolution before starting the game ;)

This is a long shot, but are you running a non-English language version of Windows?

If so try this...

Go to C:/Program Files/Super Laser Racer/Settings
Open then Engine.ini in notepad and change saveloc=0 to saveloc=C:/Super Laser Racer/
Restart the game an see if it works.

Let us know how it goes.

I'm running English windows but I tried it anyway, it didn't help either :(

I installed the NSS4 demo also and that acts similarly, I think it's just something about my pc that hates your engine! Is there any more info I can give you that might help track it down?

If you could open Documents/Super Laser Racer/Settings/Settings.ini and set debug=1. Then run the game and let it crash. Find the Debug.log file in your Program Files/Super Laser Racer folder and post the content here. :)

Sorry for the long delay, had other priorities (new job!).

The game doesn't actually crash, it just freezes almost completely - I say almost because if I leave it a few minutes it sometimes generates a new frame. But it doesn't ever generate an error log :(

Are you sure your computer doesn't have any possible error and that your pc or mac has the requisits to run the whole game??????????

Do you get the same problem with NSGP? It's very similar and based on the same game code, so I would be interested to know.

Just tried NSGP and yes, similar problem there both on quick race, and on practice in a new game.

Hope santa brings a new pc... ;)

Just to let you know Si, I did a clean install of windows and the game works fine now, must've been something buggy that was breaking it (and not your coding!). Nice game! :)
