Yet another day where I wasted a whole morning playing in the snow. I came back home very slowly because I was tired from all the snowfighting against my brother, but when I did, I just sat down, had all the chicken on the table and then had a lie down. I turned on the TV and on some channel "New Star of Soccer" ;) was on. Sadly I only catched the last but most important part of the show where they gave their contact information. I then asked my brother if he thought my football skills were actually worth anything at that time, and in an ironic, mocking way he replied "Yes, you are Messi did you not know?!" Unfortunately my thinking skills had been overtaken by the prospect of playing in a very high league, of being the next Messi if you will. I ran to the trial center of Breidablik. What will happen from now on I don't know...

So there I was. Still thinking I'd be the next Messi, I had arrived at the training center. My first impressions of it however weren't too good. It seemed the recession had actually hurt the club, the training center was literally falling apart and it sure could use a lick of paint. But I shouldn't criticise my possible future club right? :) The trials were super easy, just the regular 'take the cones down' and 'go past the cones' and 'score a few goals' style exercises, and before I'd realized, I was already wearing my club's shirt! My first season had started!

(note: Iceland is an yearly league)

My first match was in two days, a season opener against Kiflavik. I wasn't sure whether I'd debut right away or not, so I told my manager I wouldn't be in that match; instead I'd be in the training center, trying to sharpen myself up. The manager wasn't too happy but he understood it. Unfortunately, one of my mates was eavesdropping and he heard what I'd said and now I was known as a kiss-***. I ignored them, still in the clouds because of what my brother had said and just thought they were jealous of my potential. Not all of my mates called me a kiss-*** though; there were a few minds that still had some sense and they decided to join me. So we had a small match in our indoor soccer pitch. Unfortunately, there was no goalkeeper, so guess who took his place... and guess who had to use his 'third hand' a couple of times. That last part got me injured so I was definitely not gonna be in the season opener, whether I wanted to or not. I guess the bench would have to do for now.

Before I'd realized, Sunday was here! Time for the season opener. I was still rather mad for being injured (or better yet, for getting injured in such a stupid way!) so I quickly rushed to the bench. I didn't want to see my mates relishing the prospect of playing the match, so happy with me in the bench, in a training suit, and with no chances of playing. After we scored our 1st goal, Beldvinsson came to me and shouted "HAHA! I CAN SCORE AND YOU CAN'T! YOU BABY! GO BACK HOME TO YOUR MOMMY!" What did I do? I quickly ran off the bench and instead of going home as you might have thought, I went to the locker room and filled his clothes with shampoo  Who's laughing now? Surely it's not him :D We won 2-0, and once he got to the locker room, he was all like "WHAT THE ****? WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? COME ON!" He punched one of the lockers which was actually the manager's private locker, where he kept his valuables and all. The manager wasn't happy at all and he didn't give a damn about Beldvinsson's clothes. And I was sitting in the bench in the locker room, looking at them both and laughing out loud. It was kinda suspicious but I just couldn't control myself. It was too damn funny...

Do you know what a treadmill can do to you? Well, just read this and you'll find out.

After the match, I went out with some friends and mates and we had a few drinks. Just to continue the celebration, I proposed a visit to the casino. They agreed. However, I overlooked the fact that my vision and judgement could have been affected by all the alcohol. (come on, 2 bottles of Don Perignon per person, how was I still on my feet I don't know) I felt kinda rich cos I had about €840 in my pocket and I decided to gamble half of it in Blackjack. I lost. I then gambled the other half. I won. I had 840€ again woo. I then remembered that I needed a treadmill so I could work out a bit more than I did. However, I was still €250 short so I decided to gamble exactly that amount of money. I thought I'd seen a 4 and a 5 in my hand so I hit it. A 9 came out. I had 18, however, that 9 looked slightly like a 3... so hit it again I said. A 4 came out, and I told them to hit it again, however they said I had bust, but I said I hadn't, and the alcohol made me have a sudden change of mood and a small fight was had with the dealer. Because of that, the security came to me, punched me in the stomach to stop me and ripped me off €700. And that is what a treadmill can do to you.

However, the day after, I wasn't too sore, so I decided to go back to the training ground, with a massive hangover and embarrassed for what happened last night. As I was going to the training ground I saw the newspaper had a few pictures of me in a fight, clearly drunk and it all came back to me again, and everyone who saw me in the bus were just laughing at me. Pure embarrassement I tell ya, and when I got to the training ground, the icing on the top of the cake did too: the manager told me I would not feature in his plans for the 2nd league match. Crap. I mumbled and went to the training ground. We were doing some shooting practice and 5 minutes after the start, it started raining. The manager said "Everyone back inside now!". I ignored him, and kept on training by myself, with no goalkeeper. At least I could practice my accuracy. The manager was sorta happy with me, I mean, I was training regardless of what conditions were. Our goalkeeper decided to join me too, so the training would get a bit more competitive. The training however didn't go too well at all, but the fans were happy, I mean, free balls, what more do you want? :D After the training the manager apologized to me for his reaction before the session and said he meant nothing of what he'd said. Nice.

Saturday was here not too soon. I was in the starting XI at least! Obviously my efforts were being paid. What would happen now I do not know...

(yes, a cliffhanger, stay tuned etc :P)

First of all you are a very good player, because I know you personaly and I know it's true, but you have to admit it, you chose a hell of a league, playing in the snow it's always fun, but that league sucks. You know quite well as I do that you have leave that legue as quickly as possible.
